Awkward horse stance becomes strong thru Ving Tsun (wing chun) Kung Fu training

This awkward-looking horse stance, Yee Gee Kim Yeung Mah, is basic training in Moy Tung Ving Tsun (wing chun) Kung Fu. This stance trains the legs to be strong and powerful, so you can keep your balance if you slip, and so you can stay on your feet in a fight. The horse is where the power comes from to put into Ving Tsun strikes and kicks. Training in this stance develops relaxation through deep breathing and focus. And, it builds awareness of your own body’s centerline structure, so you can better defend yourself.
